Our Story

Homestead Junk Removers started the way a lot of local businesses do — we saw a gap and filled it. The big national chains charge premium prices and treat you like a job number. The guys with pickup trucks on Craigslist are cheap but unreliable — they no-show, they overcharge, and they dump your junk wherever is convenient for them, not where it's supposed to go.

We're Homestead residents. We live here, work here, and know the community. South Miami-Dade needed a junk removal company that showed up on time, gave straight prices, and disposed of things properly — donating what could be donated, recycling what could be recycled, and only sending to the landfill what had no other destination. So that's what we built.

The business grew through word-of-mouth. How We Dispose of Your Junk Responsibly

After we haul your junk, it doesn't just go to a landfill. Here's what actually happens to your stuff. Usable furniture — sofas, beds, dressers, tables in decent condition — goes to local donation centers in South Miami-Dade. We deliver it ourselves, and the centers give us receipts. Working appliances go the same route. Someone else needs a fridge, and your old one still runs.

Metal of any kind — steel, aluminum, copper, brass — goes to a scrap metal recycler. Appliances, wiring, shelving, bed frames, exercise equipment. Metal is one of the most recyclable materials on the planet, and dumping it in a landfill is a waste. Electronics — computers, TVs, monitors, printers — go to certified e-waste facilities. Florida law prohibits certain electronics in landfills, and for good reason. They contain heavy metals and components that need proper handling.

Yard waste goes to organic recycling and composting facilities. It becomes mulch and compost — put right back into local landscaping. Construction debris gets sorted: concrete goes to a recycler that processes it into road base, clean wood goes to mulching, metal gets recycled. Only the mixed waste — stuff that genuinely can't be separated — goes to a Miami-Dade transfer station.
